Partial family portrait

This man is one month old!

Hostess

Having just been remaindered at Tropical Smoothie, Claire spends her last night at the ol' Ruby River stake house. Yee-ha!

This side, that side

Look out!

Matt and Claire meet young Howie for the very first time; Caitlin and Colton reflect upon how big babies can actually get; Lucy keeps all these things, and ponders them in her heart

Alberta trip, part last

Taking Grandpa out to a ball game.

Had a wonderful second Sabbath day, in which I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things I should do, and so participated in and most assuredly had the benefit of at least two bona fide miracles.

Had lunch with Luke and Scott, and later strolled all around their pleasant neighbourhood, sitting and chatting for hours, hearing, among other things, the strange tale of how Scott once licked his cat, and got severely chastised for his presumption.

Let this be a lesson and a warning to all of us ...

Did a lot of cleaning, and discarding. Found some amazing images!

Parting .

The Calgary, Alberta LDS Temple!

With sister Sharon to the magnificent main branch of the Calgary Public Library.

Parting, again. Down w' the usual hushed, enraptured appreciation on Hwy. 22. Do you notice, crossing over, that Montana is just as beautiful, just as dear?

Alberta trip, pt. 2—Interlude

Saw and heard from and talked to various children and grandchildren:

Gymnast!

Umm ...

We'll eventually have to address this toplessness challenge ...

The tiger dodo!

This handsome man:

The irrepressible Karen.

Manos, the hands of fate:

Cowgirl/Elvis.

Dad's trip to Alberta, 26 July to 10 August, pt. 1

The beautiful Adel Mountain volcanics, between Helena and Great Falls, Montana.

Crossed over—Granum, Alberta:

Grandpa, getting stronger, returning to teach the Elders Quorum in his Sherwood Park ward.

Nana's pretty garden.

Ahem ...

Faithfully following Him.

To meet with the stroke doctor, at the Grey Nun's Hopsital.

Here we received very heartening news. The strokes originated from the heart, and were due to a mysterious, elusive infection. Very dangerous! Except that this dangerous and elusive infection was eventually identified, chased down and vanquished, with the result being that there's very, very little chance of a recurrence, and a very good chance of recovery, driving, unanticipated degrees of freedom and mobility.

A blessing!

The first of two lovely visits to the Edmonton, Alberta LDS temple, where I found friends, and felt very much at home.

Berrying, for Saskatoons, specifically, on the lip of the great Rainbow Valley, which brooded benevolently, constantly, over our childhood and youth.

Lisa and I journeyed east on Hwy. 16 to Vegreville, which features this very impressive, and justifiably famous giant Ukrainian Easter egg.

We also journeyed to nearby Mundare, which features this somewhat less impressive giant Ukrainian sausage ...
