Saturday, July 3, 1999: It's hot! Drew [8 years old] and Mum go shopping. Caitlin [10 years old] goes to play at the Miners’. Sarah [6 years old] is looking after the boys, beautifully. We try out some new computer games, or programs. Orly’s Draw-a-Story goes over the biggest.
Later we eat some leftovers and then make our way outside, where it's actually cooler. Spencer [three years old] goes up to the Cotters' big tree, in their front yard. He climbs up a little, to look around. Then, suddenly, he’s got his trousers down. We hustle over to investigate. “The tiger had to go poop!” he says. Well I guess he would, at that. And sure enough, some four feet below, we find a nice, large mineral deposit.
