Books we've read together

We recently checked our records, and then did a survey, and came up with this list of books that we have read out loud together as a family. There has been a lot of mutual gathering and tale-telling over what begins to look like a long march of years! A blessed march, too. Clearly, some of these adventures were shared before the later kids came along, or were cognizant. Others were aired after the oldest had moved onto other recreations, or had outright moved on. That's quite natural, and quite alright. Time passes and leads to graduations of many varieties.

You hope, though, you go so far as to think that for all that graduating there are still things that abide, and endure. What impresses, and rushes in at the margins of this assembly, are the stories that lie outside these stories. “Pinocchio—you saved my life!” The lives and learning and love that framed and contained and finally exceeded all of these lovely tales.

Hurrah for all these wonderful authors, illustrators and translators. More than that, hurrah for us!

Why don't we start here?
